Eveland Access Cabins
There are now two cabins for rent at the Mahaska County Conservation Board's site at Eveland Access on the Des Moines River southwest of Oskaloosa.
The Birch Cabin joins the Apple Cabin for rent at Eveland Access, located eight miles from Oskaloosa, five miles from Cedar Bluff's State Preserve and five miles from Bluff Creek ATV Park.
MCCB Director Mike Gipple says, "The Apple Cabin features about the same things as its sister cabin — two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, heating and cooling systems and a living room. Also, the cabin has Wi-Fi Internet access."
Cabin rental fees are $65 per night or $435 per week, due at check-in. A $100 refundable damage/cleanup deposit is due at booking. Reservation s may be made up to one year in advance. Call the conservation center at (641) 673-9327 for reservations.
"Other improvements have been made at Eveland Access, " Gipple said.
The Sheets Addition to Eveland Access has 18 campsites equipped with electrical hookups for RVs or campers. Also, the MCCB received a $10,000 Sustainable Community Committee Grant for the Eveland Access Campground. The playground is a Center Stage Play System design from Miracle Recreation Equipment. Eveland Access also features a sand volleyball court that is open to the public.
