MISSION STATEMENT:
To enhance downtown Oskaloosa as an attractive, unified, and economically sound commercial district by preserving the architectural heritage and communicating a positive image.
- ORGANIZATION - means getting everyone
working together towards the same goal. This means building a
consensus and cooperation among the various groups that have an
important stake in the district.
- PROMOTION - means selling the
image, promise and reputation of Main Street to all prospects.
Main Street believes in marketing the district's unique characteristics
to shoppers, investors, and new businesses through innovative
promotional activities, special events, and marketing campaigns.
- DESIGN - means getting Main Street
into top physical shape. The look and 'feel' of the buildings
helps to maintain the positive growth trends. Main Street offers
two unique financial packages to help create or maintain this
top physical condition. A Facade Grant for up to $500 and A Main
Street Revolving Loan Fund for up to $5,000.
- BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT - means finding a new purpose for Main Street's enterprises. By helping existing downtown businesses expand and recruiting new ones to respond to today's market.
